Purchasing Planner

: Purchasing Planner Reports To: Director of Supply Chain Location: On site, East Boston, MA The Mission: This role will be for the person who does all of the purchasing for Downeast, from millions of aluminum cans to small flavor samples for R&D, and everything in between. They will be tasked with maintaining the right amount of materials, and having them in the right place, at the right time. Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review and track purchase orders and expedite orders as needed
• Manage inventory levels across warehousing locations, including reducing storage costs and optimizing short term inventory turnover
• Responsible for all inbound materials to support the production plan for all ops teams
• Lead innovation process from the supply side, coordinating with marketing, R&D, and the packaging and production teams to facilitate new item creation
• Monitor purchasing prices and documenting changes, negotiating for preferential pricing and terms.
• Develop and discover qualified Suppliers
• Monitor supplier performance
• Work with the finance team to reconcile pricing discrepancies between POs and Invoices
• Develop, and manage procurement processes that drive operational efficiency
• Work with director of supply chain on material contracts and supplier RFQs
• Partner with marketing to assist in costing out new innovation items

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, business administration, logistics, or a related field OR 1-3 years experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, procurement, or a related role.
