We have an opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our Controllership team where they will play an integral role in our Accounting Organization! This role is responsible for supporting the Segment Controllership, Manager of Accounting, through execution of daily operations with limited supervision. They will be a key contributor to the monthly global financial close process, specializing in journal entries, account reconciliations and analyses with efficiency and accuracy. Effective from the date that Hasbro opens it's new Boston location, this position will be onsite Tuesday - Thursday in Hasbro's new HQ location in Boston, MA. In the interim, this position will be onsite Tuesday - Thursday at Hasbro's HQ in Pawtucket, RI or at Hasbro's temporary location in Boston, MA. A day in the life of a Senior Accountant: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual segment financials and required supporting documentation.​ Conduct variance analyses and explain differences between actual and expected financial performance.​ Manage the processing of journal entries related to segment-specific revenue.​ Ensure journal entries are accurately prepared, reviewed, and posted in accordance with internal policies and procedures.​ Support technical accounting analysis and interpretation of complex issues. Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure reporting accuracy.​ Perform financial close activities and enable timely and accurate completion of close-related tasks.​ Manage the team’s compliance with US GAAP and company policies and procedures. Manage internal and external audit support, including preparation of audit documentation in response to auditor inquiries.​ Implement recommendations and mitigation plans in response to audit findings and outcomes.​ Collaborate with region-specific Commercial Finance counterparts and understand how and when accounting policies apply to the Business.​ Facilitate interactions and collaboration between Commercial Finance and the Technical Accounting team. What you’ll bring: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred. 2 to 4 years of Accounting experience in a large publicly traded company or public accounting (Big 4 preferred). Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), along with a solid understanding of accounting principles, concepts, and practices. Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, creative problem solve and contribute efficiently and optimally in a fast-paced team environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment. Organized and detail oriented. Strong problem-solving skills. The base salary range for this position is $82,700.00 to $124,100.00. The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location and market conditions. Additionally, employees may be eligible for annual and long-term incentives as part of their overall compensation package.
