Community Associate - Hospitality Specialist - Part Time or Full Time

Community Associates set the tone for our warm welcoming work environment, connecting with everyone who walks through our doors. CAs help to manage our beautiful member café, solve customer service and site issues, and field administrative and tech support tasks for our small business.

We’re a creative, entrepreneurial team running a beloved local business, so tasks range widely from hospitality to customer service, administration, sales, and building management.

Community Associate works closely with the site Community Manager and reports to the Director of Operations.

Where/When:

This is slated as a part-time in-person position 8:30AM-1:30PM Monday to Friday. This position is based in Brookline Village, with occasional shifts at our secondary location in JP. 1-2 full days may be available in our Boston location if full-time status is desired.

Job Tasks:

  • Creating and Growing TVW Community
  • Acting as a friendly, welcoming first point of contact for members, prospective members, visitors, and neighbors
  • Managing day-to-day member and visitor needs (customer service) and fostering a warm and positive community environment
  • Responding professionally to incoming phone calls and emails
  • Creatively planning and hosting community programming
  • Participating in sales process for memberships, including tours, documentation in CRM system, and follow-ups

2 . Stewarding Our Work Environment

  • Managing our beautiful community Café, including hospitality services, light cleaning throughout the day, and maintaining inventory
  • Reliably completing daily procedures
  • Handling day-to-day facilities and building issues as they arise
  • Offering basic on-demand tech and audio-visual support
  • Performing core building tasks that require climbing stairs and lifting small equipment as the sole staff member in the building at times

3 . Supporting Our Small Business

  • Arriving on time and reliably keeping an in-person schedule
  • Working independently to handle administrative tasks in a timely manner, including member billing and record-keeping
  • Processing member mail services
  • Staffing periodic event rentals as coordinator and facilities manager (overtime pay may apply)
  • Additional duties as assigned, in support of the day-to-day business functions and the Director of Operations

  • Welcoming, outgoing personality and authentic interest in people and their jobs
  • Trustworthy and reliable to handle building safety and administrative tasks independently
  • Culturally competent to communicate effectively and with kindness to neighbors and clients of different backgrounds
  • Self-starting, able to handle a fast-paced, varied workday independently
  • Effective and professional communication, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable with computers (Mac, Windows, Chromebook), basic technical and audio-visual setup and troubleshooting
  • Growth attitude about improving and expanding skills over time

Helpful Qualifications:

  • 2+ years professional work experience in customer service or relevant field. We value different backgrounds, including (but not limited to) hospitality, customer service, sales, and community leadership.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly compensation is commensurate with experience. Benefits include company sponsored health insurance (50% company paid for part-time teammates), paid holidays and vacation time, sick and wellness days, and tuition benefit. Perks include personal membership, access to member discounts and hosting events, friends and family discounts. Hourly rate starts at $22-25/hour.
