JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Lease Coordinator

CATEGORY: Hourly Part-Time up to 19 Hours Weekly

BENEFITS: Same as Provided to Part-Time MCDA Employees

WAGE RATE: Starting at $20.00 - $22.00 Hourly

PROBATION PERIOD: Six Months from Date of Hire and can be Continued if Management Directs

Position Summary: Lease Coordinator is responsible for assisting with rent determinations, interims and all matters concerning the calculations of tenant rents for both state public housing and voucher housing including HUD Section 8. Other duties include assisting the Program Manager and Director of Leased Housing in general rent and leasing duties including review of applicants and the waiting list.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Rent Calculations including initial and interim, reconcile & calculate past due rent amounts
• Prepare recertification packages and follow-up where necessary
• Assist with general leasing duties
• Assist with tenant selection process and waiting list
• Conduct re-certifications and initial certifications of leased housing clients
• Audits files to ensure overall regulatory compliance
• Any other tasks and responsibilities as directed by management

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Program Director and/or designee or as directed by Management

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Knowledge of Massachusetts public housing such as the 667 & 689 housing programs
• General Knowledge of public housing software systems
• Within one year of hire must complete MA NAHRO Occupancy Cycle course
• Experience with HUD Section 8 Housing Voucher program
• Experience with Massachusetts HAFIS computer system
• High school diploma
• Valid Massachusetts Driver's License
• Competence in personal computer skills including Microsoft Office including Excel
• Successfully pass a drug and physical exam as well as CORI and employment background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to walk and/or drive to rental units both up and down stairs and lift and/move up to 30 pounds. The employee may on occasion be required to sit stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and crouch. Specific vision requirements include close and distance vision. Position requires the ability to communicate with tenants, applicants and staff.
