Job Title: Donor Care Specialist I

Location: Hyannis, MA 02601

Shift: Day Shift (Multiple options between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

Schedule: 5 days/week (40 hours)

Hours: 8 hours per day

Work Pattern: Rotational days, including occasional weekends & holidays

Employment Type: Contract / 13 Weeks

Position Summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a skilled Donor Care Specialist I with prior phlebotomy experience to support blood donor recruitment and collection activities. This role involves working in both fixed donor centers and mobile blood drive settings while ensuring high standards of donor care, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform donor screening to determine eligibility in accordance with established regulatory standards
• Conduct whole blood collections and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures
• Support both on-site donor centers and off-site/mobile blood drives
• Prepare, label, and process blood components and laboratory specimens
• Maintain accurate donor records, documentation, and data entry
• Assist in donor recruitment and engagement activities
• Monitor inventory and restock donor care supplies as needed
• Ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all work areas
• Adhere to all applicable policies, safety guidelines, and compliance standards
• Deliver excellent customer service to donors, patients, and team members
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Prior phlebotomy experience required
• Phlebotomy certification preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer proficiency (data entry, documentation, etc.)
