We are seeking CDL A Drivers or CDL B Drivers with a trailer endorsement to safely and responsibly operate a company vehicle in picking up and delivering equipment and aggregates to specific locations. Properly loading, unloading and securing / tying down heavy equipment for over the road transportation.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Safe operation of a low bed tractor trailer, weighing in excess of 100,000 pounds, when full. This requires perceptual skills to monitor a sometimes-complex driving situation, the judgment skills to make quick decisions when necessary, manipulative skills to control an oversize steering wheel, shift gears using a manual transmission, and maneuver the truck in crowded areas.
- Safely operate various heavy construction and paving equipment.
- Perform Pre-trip & Post-trip Inspections; Manage & Maintain Accurate Documentation and report any issues or incidents to the Dispatcher on duty.
- Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner always.
- Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed (Team Atmosphere, Everyone Helps).
Requirements
- Valid CDL license with appropriate endorsements.
- Heavy hauling experience required. Low bed experience preferred.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to safely load, secure, and transport heavy equipment and materials.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, weight restrictions, mileage logs, travel restrictions, and safety protocols.
- Must pass DOT physical, pre-employment and random drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strong work ethic and reliability. Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to work after hours as necessary, including on-call as needed. Positions may require some nights, weekends, holiday, and emergency coverage as needed.
