Job Summary
Perform basic surgical procedures, related animal care and administrative duties in fulfillment of customer orders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform basic surgical procedures as assigned.
- Perform specimen collection associated with surgical procedure.
- Provide pre- and post- operative animal care.
- Perform all duties following prescribed safety procedures.
- Maintain workstation and equipment in clean, healthful, and safe environment.
- Complete paperwork as required.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.)
- One to two years related experience in small animal surgery.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently be able to remain in a stationary position while performing laboratory tasks:
- regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls;
- reach with hands and arms; and use a microscope.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.
- Works in a busy research environment:
- often uses sharp objects,
- works around mechanical parts,
- works with or near known or unknown toxic or caustic chemicals and/or biological hazards,
- exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
- Works with biological samples with risk of exposure to, zoonotic disease, and biohazards.
Compensation Data
The pay range for this position is $50,000 to $55,000. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, and location.
