Summary:
Are you a seasoned litigator with a passion for advocacy and strategic case management? We're looking for a Trial Attorney who thrives in the courtroom and enjoys collaborating with claims professionals to deliver exceptional legal outcomes.
In this role, you'll represent clients in complex tort, contract, and insurance litigation, manage cases from inception to resolution, and play a key role in shaping legal strategy. You'll be part of a dynamic team that values integrity, precision, and proactive problem-solving.
Responsibilities:

Manage assigned cases through resolution-via settlement, arbitration, or trial

Take appropriate legal action to protect client interests on each case

Represent clients in depositions, court conferences, arbitration hearings, and trials

Prepare timely, detailed reports for the Claims Department on significant case developments, in line with company policies and requests from the Managing Attorney

Draft legal pleadings, motions, and discovery documents for assigned cases

Schedule and participate in litigation strategy meetings with the Claims Department

Conduct legal research as needed to support case strategy and resolution

Communicate regularly with Claim Representatives regarding case progress and legal strategy

Build and maintain strong working relationships with Claim Representatives through collaboration and clear communication

Identify and report high-exposure cases to the Managing Attorney

Provide onion letters/memos to the Claims Department to guide claim disposition

Monitor and analyze new legislation and court decisions to inform the Law Office, Claims Department, and broader company operations
Qaulifications:
-
Master's degree or equivalent related experience
-
Alternatively, an associate's degree plus 8 or more years of relevant experience
-
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the Bar in the jurisdiction(s) where the office is located and practices

6 to 10 years of relevant legal and litigation experience

Prior experience in insurance defense or tort litigation

Proven ability to independently manage litigated cases from inception to conclusion

Advanced written and oral communication skills

Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Windows OS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Ability to manage a significant caseload with modest trial work

Strong interpersonal and advocacy skills to communicate effectively with clients, courts, the Claims Department, and external legal professionals

Capable of representing the organization professionally within the legal community and other associations
-
Skilled in analyzing legal issues and recommending viable litigation strategies

Effective in negotiating and pleading cases throughout the litigation process
