Infant/Toddler Teacher - 2-6pm - Beacon Hill

POSITION AVAILABLE: INFANT/TODDLER TEACHER

Torit Montessori School is an infant through sixth-grade independent school on Boston’s historic Beacon Hill. Our mission is to educate bright and capable students in the spirit of Dr. Maria Montessori’s groundbreaking methods, allowing students to explore materials, ideas, and applications at their own pace, with guidance, direction, and encouragement from teachers.

DESCRIPTION and REQUIREMENTS:
We seek a dynamic infant/toddler teacher. The teacher will partner closely with the infant team leader and must be excited about building a collaborative learning partnership. The successful candidate will share responsibility for aspects of the school experience, including developing strong partnerships with colleagues and families. All teachers are responsible for supervising the classroom environment, developing and delivering curriculum, establishing classroom routines, family communications, and record keeping.

This position is PT (2:00pm-6:00pm). During the hours of 2-6pm, the successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to take the role of lead teacher, planning activities and working as a strong part of a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
● Prioritize the safety and well-being of all students
● Perform supervision, free play, dismissal, and other duties as needed, including walking safely with young children outside

● Lead academic and behavioral routines
● Maintain professional communication with peers and families and exhibit a collegial demeanor
● Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance curriculum and community
● Participate in and support special events/activities
● Participate in professional development initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:
● One to five years of experience with infants and toddlers (3mos-2 years) students

● EEC infant/toddler Teacher or Lead Teacher certification a plus

● AA required; BA/BS preferred
