Cad Designer

Job Description

A company is looking for a Cad Designer to join their team. This Designer will aide in the upgrades of a major energy providers distribution grids. They will be in charge of scheduling and developing construction plans for the project work. This person will create work packages, create construction plans, bill material and will be in charge of the scope or work schedule. This person will be in charge of owning their own field work where they will be taking notes, pictures, measurements and will ultimately be in charge of the designing the project construction plans. The work will be developed using Geographic Info­rmation Systems (GIS), Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, Work Management Systems (WMS), and other client systems. The project work will require performing engineering calculations that may include: structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop and flicker, and coordination of protective devices.

Pay Range: $26.00 - $34.00 depending on experience level.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages while on contract for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements

-Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical or Civil Engineering

• Experience designing with Katapult Software

-OR could have: strong construction background, design work, civil engineering, electrical experience and programming experience

-Strong previous experience with AutoCad or MicroStation Design software

-Interest in developing construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and construction standards
