Posting Description TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, McGovern Institute for Brain Research ‐ Desimone Laboratory, to join a lab that focuses on basic neural mechanisms of attention and executive control which are often impaired in mental disorders. Will be responsible for data collection and general experimental support for at least two species of animals; helping with the construction, testing, and calibration of laboratory equipment; conducting behavioral training; supporting electrophysiological recording and optical stimulation experiments; administering anesthesia and supporting all phases of neurosurgery and magnetic resonance imaging, including animal recovery, tool preparation, sterilization, and cleanup; work closely with the lab manager and serve as laboratory representative, attending monthly meetings and ensuring compliance with animal care and safety protocols; train new personnel; perform daily health checks; and perform other duties as requested. May also participate in data analysis and the preparation of manuscripts. Job Requirements REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field; a minimum of two years of relevant research experience, including work with animals; comfort working with laboratory animals; excellent organizational and communication skills; initiative; meticulous attention to detail; and ability to remain flexible in fast‐paced environment.
