The Position:

Gibbet Hill is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our restaurant team to support our lunch service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and be able to prepare delicious meals for our customers. The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring that all food is cooked to perfection and presented in an appealing manner. The successful candidate will have a passion for food, be knowledgeable about different cooking techniques and have experience in preparing a variety of cuisines. This position will be primarily focused on our lunch service and be scheduled Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure that all food is cooked to the correct temperature and presented in an appealing manner.
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Keep the kitchen clean and organized, following sanitation guidelines.
  • Work with the kitchen team to ensure that all food is prepared on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure that the kitchen is operating efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a Cook preferred.
  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
  • Willingness to learn new recipes, techniques, and stations - experience with a broiler is a plus!
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
  • A degree or diploma in Culinary Arts is a plus!
