Accounting Associate

A leading asset management and hedge fund firm in Boston is seeking an Accounting Associate to support corporate accounting, financial reporting, and analysis functions. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong accounting background—particularly those from public accounting or large firms—who are pursuing or have earned their CPA designation.

Compensation:

• Base Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 (flexible for the right candidate)
• Annual Bonus Target: 10–15%
• Retirement: 12% company-funded profit sharing

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries for domestic and international corporate entities
• Complete month-end account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Perform intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation adjustments
• Assist in preparing GAAP financial statements and audit documentation
• Support monthly FP&A analysis for selected line items
• Reconcile investment holding statements for corporate entities

Requirements:

• 2+ years of accounting experience (general ledger, month-end/year-end close, or public accounting)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA license (or active pursuit of CPA)
• Big 4 or large public accounting firm experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial analysis tools
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles

Nice-to-Have Experience:

• Familiarity with QuickBooks or Workday
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
