Internal Communication Senior Specialist
We're looking for a passionate communicator who understands the heart of a manufacturing environment-its people. As a Senior Internal Communications Specialist, you'll help shape the employee experience across our manufacturing network by amplifying frontline voices, celebrating our culture, and ensuring communications are accessible, inclusive, and aligned to our Vision, Mission, and Guiding Principles.
Your work will strengthen the connection between our manufacturing sites, corporate functions, and global teams-bringing clarity, consistency, and humanity to every message.
You Will Make an Impact By:
-
Partner closely with Operations, HR, EHS, Quality, and site leadership to develop communications that educate, engage, and reflect the realities of a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
-
Build strong relationships with frontline teams-manufacturing employees, shift supervisors, and site support functions-to ensure their stories, challenges, and successes are represented in our communications.
-
Create and execute communication strategies for key manufacturing initiatives, including corporate information, operational excellence efforts, workforce engagement, site readiness, and cultural improvements.
-
Support and align communications across sites and divisions, helping leaders cascade consistent, clear messages that resonate with both hourly and salaried employees.
-
Lead communication efforts for employee surveys, focus groups, and two-way listening programs, ensuring frontline employees feel heard-and that action plans are communicated back clearly.
-
Manage and evolve internal digital signage, tools aimed at this audience, and intranet pages -making sure content is accessible to employees who may not be working at a desk.
-
Produce compelling stories from the shop floor, highlighting innovation, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
-
Travel periodically to key sites to capture frontline insights, strengthen relationships, and deepen your understanding of site culture and operations.
-
Support crisis or urgent operational communications, helping ensure employees receive timely, accurate information when it matters most.
-
Advise leaders and supervisors on communication best practices tailored to shift-based, production-focused audiences.
Skills You Bring:
-
5+ years of experience in internal communications, manufacturing communications, employee engagement, or a related field. You understand how to communicate in environments where most employees aren't at a computer.
-
Bachelor's degree required (Communications, Journalism, PR, Business, or a related field preferred) or equivalent, relevant experience.
-
Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex operational or technical information into messages that are clear, human, and meaningful. (Writing samples will be requested.)
-
Hands-on experience with digital communication tools, including digital signage, intranet platforms, newsletters, and live or recorded town halls.
-
Comfort and credibility working inside manufacturing environments-you're as comfortable on the plant floor as you are in a meeting room.
-
Strong relationship-building skills, especially with operations leaders, supervisors, shift teams, and support functions.
-
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment, balancing multiple priorities with calm, clarity, and organization.
-
A strategic yet practical thinker, able to see the big picture while rolling up your sleeves to execute the details.
-
Creative problem solver, always looking for new, simple, and effective ways to reach and engage manufacturing employees.
