Senior Director - Financial Services - Americas Division
-New York
Lead the practice. Shape the market. Build what’s next. If you’re a Financial Services growth leader who’s tired of “advising around the edges” and ready to set direction, build a team, and own outcomes, this role is for you. Simon-Kucher is the world’s leading growth specialist. We help clients unlock measurable revenue and profit by optimizing the full commercial engine— customer strategy, product, pricing, innovation, marketing, distribution, and sales . Our Financial Services team partners with leaders across Banking, Fintech, Payments, Wealth & Asset Management, Capital Markets, and Insurance, as well as private equity investors, to solve their biggest commercial opportunities. Why This Role Is Different This isn’t a “Senior Director on engagements” role. It’s a practice leadership seat —with meaningful latitude to build the market, develop talent, and shape the FS agenda in North America. You’ll join a high-performing, growing Americas FS team (20+ dedicated consultants, led by partners across the US, Canada, and LATAM) and be supported by a global bench of ~125 Financial Services specialists. What Makes Us Special- Become part of a unique entrepreneurial team. Think independently, use your initiative, and take some risks. Entrepreneurship is a powerful force that drives the growth not only of our firm but our clients and people.
- Unlock the power of opportunity. Advance your career in a thriving company with a startup feel. We invest in your professional development every step of the way.
- Work in a values-driven culture. At Simon-Kucher, our vision is to become the world's leading growth specialist. Our values guide the way we do business and communicate our distinctiveness. They sum up what we stand for, influence our culture, and drive how and why we do things.
- Invest in your future. All US and Canadian employees enjoy 401(k) & RRSP benefits with company matching.
- Prioritize your health and well-being. No matter where you live, we offer a competitive suite of health benefits to help keep you and your loved ones safe.
- Enjoy balance and flexible working. Be empowered to do your best work – whether it’s from home or in the office.
- As Senior Director, Financial Services, you will lead from the front—in the market and inside the firm. You’ll deepen relationships with senior executives, originate and lead major engagements, and elevate our FS practice through capability-building and thought leadership.
- What you’ll lead and own
- Practice leadership & growth
- Serve as a leader of the Financial Services practice in the Americas—helping set priorities, build capabilities, and expand our footprint.
- Source and shape opportunities by identifying client pain points and translating them into high-impact commercial growth engagements.
- Create momentum with existing clients through follow-on work—and open doors to new relationships and new markets.
- Client impact
- Lead end-to-end strategy engagements that drive tangible outcomes (and that clients can actually implement).
- Bring deep FS content knowledge across monetization and commercial strategy, including:
- Growth strategy (organic/inorganic), go-to-market, and front-office transformation
- Pricing & packaging, value proposition design, product/portfolio strategy
- Segmentation and analytics-led commercial strategy
- Distribution strategy (omnichannel, digitization, channel orchestration)
- Sales effectiveness (process, incentives, coverage, productivity)
- Deliver executive-ready storytelling—clear, confident, and actionable.
- Team leadership
- Build and grow high-performing teams: coach, develop, and inspire future leaders.
- Manage multiple engagements while balancing client success, team experience, and project profitability.
- Practice leadership & growth
- You’re likely someone who is known for commercial growth work in FS—and is ready to lead bigger, build more, and have broader impact.
- You bring:
- 10+ years in management consulting or professional services serving Financial Services clients.
- A strong track record in selling and delivering complex strategy work with senior executives.
- A meaningful network in North American Financial Services (senior relationships preferred).
- Demonstrated experience building and leading teams—and ideally contributing to practice growth, IP, and thought leadership.
- The ability to manage multiple engagements across workplans, budgets, timelines, and client stakeholders.
- An undergraduate degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Willingness to travel ~25% with in-office presence of 2-3 days per week in alignment with our hybrid working model.
The pay range for this position in New York is $240,000 - $275,000 / year plus potential annual based performance bonus. Compensation may vary depending on relevant experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, 13 paid holidays per year, medical/dental/vision insurance, basic life insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
