Job OverviewFED CORP is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support our water and sewer utility construction projects throughout Massachusetts. This position plays a vital role in safe and efficient jobsite operations, with a primary focus on operating front-end loaders in active public streets. The ideal candidate brings strong utility experience, equipment proficiency, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Key Responsibilities- Operate front-end loaders safely and efficiently on water and sewer job sites, including work in active public streets
- Onload and offload materials, equipment, and jobsite supplies
- Backfill trenches accurately and efficiently in accordance with project specifications
- Operate additional equipment as needed, including excavators, pavers, and other ancillary machinery
- Move materials and objects around the jobsite to support production and crew efficiency
- Work closely with foremen, laborers, truck drivers, and project managers to maintain workflow
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Follow all OSHA, company safety policies, and jobsite-specific requirements
- Assist with general site support tasks as needed to keep projects moving on schedule
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating equipment on water and sewer utility projects
- Proven proficiency operating front-end loaders (required)
- Experience operating excavators, pavers, and other ancillary construction equipment
- Class A CDL preferred; Class B CDL acceptable
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety, trenching, and public roadway work
- Ability to work efficiently in active construction zones and around other crews
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused professional
- Positive attitude with a goal-oriented, team-first mindset
- Strong communication skills and ability to take direction from supervision
- Prevailing wage compensation on applicable projects
