Position Overview: Inly School seeks a compassionate and engaging Spanish Teacher to join our community starting August 2026. The Spanish Teacher will teach students from Lower Elementary through Middle School (Grades 1 - 8), fostering language acquisition in an engaging, hands on manner. This full-time role will not only provide a vibrant learning experience but will also immerse students in the joy and depth of Spanish language and culture. Inly School is an independent PreK8 Montessori-plus School located in Scituate, MA that serves over 200 students from 20 South Shore towns and is deeply rooted in Montessori, child-centered, and inclusive educational practices.

The Spanish Teacher leads a cohesive world language program that supports early exposure, skill development, and language mastery in preparation for secondary school readiness.Key ResponsibilitiesSpanish instruction at Inly evolves from immersive exposure in the early years to increasingly structured, mastery oriented language study in Upper Elementary and Middle School, preparing students for placement into advanced Spanish courses at competitive secondary schools.Design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate Spanish instruction for students, fostering a joyful, inclusive, and culturally responsive language learning experience.Create a Spanish language environment in Lower Elementary (Grade 1 - 3) that emphasizes listening, speaking, and supporting confidence and curiosity around language learning.Provide increasingly structured instruction in Upper Elementary (Grade 4 - 6) and Middle School (Grade 7 -8), with explicit focus on vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, and oral communication.Develop and implement lessons and assessments that support language mastery and prepare Middle School students for secondary school placement. Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialist colleagues to integrate Spanish instruction with interdisciplinary projects, curricular themes, and schoolwide initiatives.Support students social emotional development in alignment with Montessori values, emphasizing respect, empathy, independence, and community.Maintain clear documentation of curriculum, student progress, and assessment practices across grade levels.Strong Candidates Will Have: A Bachelors Degree (in Spanish Education, or a related field); Masters preferred.At least three years of teaching experience, ideally with diverse age groups and/or in a Montessori setting.Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish and English.A collaborative spirit and a desire to contribute to Inlys progressive, inclusive environment.A commitment to anti-bias education and the creation of a welcoming, inclusive classroom community.An understanding of, or willingness to learn, Montessori philosophy and methods.Working Expectations: Your role is essential in nurturing and developing young minds.
