Amergis Educational Staffing is partnered with a school in Wilmington, MA who is currently seeking a Paraprofessional to work with students on a contractual basis.

Position: Paraprofessional

Location: Wilmington, MA

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 25-26 School Year

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-2:45 PM

Job Description:

The Therapeutic Learning Center is a public elementary and middle school program serving students with intensive special needs. The program supports students in developing communication skills, academic readiness, community and life skills, social skills, and independence. The paraprofessional will assist students in grades PreK-8, supporting instruction, implementing IEP goals, and reinforcing independence, social awareness, language, and appropriate behavior.

Experience Requirements:

Special Education background; must be able to work with students who display significantly challenging behaviors.

Pay Rate: $25.00/hour

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
