Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be required to lead the development and execution of global communication strategies, publication plans, and external medical education initiatives within the neurology therapeutic area. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality scientific materials and impactful communications.
Skills & Requirements:
- Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD, or MD preferred).
- Expertise in strategic publication planning, including scientific platforms and tactical implementation.
- Strong ability to interpret and organize complex scientific data, including clinical trial results.
- Proven success in publishing peer-reviewed abstracts and manuscripts.
- Familiarity with industry-standard publication management systems and good publication practices.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external agencies.
- Strong writing skills with attention to detail and the ability to contextualize clinical data.
- Knowledge of the clinical development process and global health outcomes data.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
The Director Global Scientific Communications' responsibilities will be:
- Develop and implement global communication strategies and publication plans aligned with therapeutic and brand objectives.
- Chair Global Publication Teams for assigned products and indications.
- Oversee the creation of abstracts, posters, oral presentations, manuscripts, and slide decks.
- Plan and execute external medical education initiatives, including congress symposia and scientific programs.
- Analyze and summarize scientific data from relevant congresses and assess their impact on company strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Medical Affairs, HEOR, MSLs) and external stakeholders (e.g., thought leaders, patient advocacy groups).
- Review scientific materials for accuracy, content, and alignment with strategic goals.
- Develop and update key strategic documents, such as Scientific Platforms.
- Manage internal team members and external medical communications agencies.
- Oversee budgets and ensure compliance with financial and contractual obligations.
- Ensure adherence to good publication practices and company policies.
Compensation:
- $255,000 to $260,000 per annum.
