Boston.com, one of the most-read digital media outlets in the region, is looking for a student to join our team for full-time co-op focused on audience engagement journalism.

Qualified candidates are highly collaborative student journalists who are interested in obtaining versatile experience at a digital media outlet. Our newsroom publishes fast, local, useful content for people who are primarily reading on their phones. Boston.com is offering this experience to a college journalist from July to December 2025.

Responsibilities and requirements include:

• Pitch and execute multimedia projects, emphasizing highly visual, short-form formats that are created originally and/or obtained from third parties
• Balancing tight turnaround and advance-notice projects focused across general assignment news, sports, lifestyle, and things to do.
• Serve as a teamwide collaborator and resource on all Boston.com multimedia projects.
• Sharing your content across our various social media channels, tapping into the conversation of the day with pertinent copy and local knowledge.

Desired skills and experience include:

• College student studying journalism or related major.
• Junior/Senior Status encouraged to apply.
• Experience at a media outlet is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of social platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X.
• An enthusiasm for digital journalism and an eagerness to learn; on-the-job training and access to professional development opportunities are provided throughout the co-op program

The hourly rate for this role is $15/hour

This range reflects the band for this role. We are committed to fair and market-informed compensation. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates could be hired within the midpoint of the range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by their particular combination of skills, experience, and qualifications.

Location information - Boston-based

The BGMP office is located in downtown Boston, near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and is easily accessible by MBTA and commuter rail lines. This position is based in Boston, and candidates should be based in the area or willing to move.

This position is a union position covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the Boston Newspaper Guild.
