Research Assistant - Hematologic Malignancies

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Brookline, MA

Overview

The Center for Population Sciences at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is looking to hire a self-motivated individual for a non-laboratory research assistant position.

The research assistant will work with a medical oncology researcher who focuses on health services and outcomes for patients with hematologic malignancies. One specific project is testing a human-in-the-loop avatar to help educate patients during their hospital stay; another is the Older Adult Hematologic Malignancy (OHM) program, in which the research assistant will assess older patients presenting in the blood cancer clinic for frailty. The research assistant will also assist with other projects as they arise. This is an excellent opportunity for a person who is applying for graduate school in the medical field within the next two years and wants hands-on research experience.

Responsibilities include (1) assessing patients in clinic and in the hospital (2) maintaining study databases (3) reviewing medical records (4) working with the IRB (5) and writing literature reviews.
