Barista & Counter Attendant Job Description

Hiring for Full Time and Part Time Roles

Barista team members welcome and care for guests in the cafe spaces. Baristas use their latte art

skills by handcrafting delicious, creative coffee beverages with latte art designs. Baristas are a key

role of the cafe service and must:

• Engage guests with gracious, genuine, and thoughtful hospitality
• Have a passion for barista drinks and full knowledge of the menu, from coffee items to other beverages to food and bakery items
• Work with colleagues as an important part of team to deliver a great guest experience
• Have flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays, & afternoons/evenings

Compensation and Benefits

• $24 - $26 / Hr plus tips

Summary of Primary Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, expedient service to guests
• Operate Toast point of sale by selecting guests’ order items and checking out guests expediently
• Welcoming guests to the cafe and engage with them throughout their experience as needed
• Develop and maintain complete knowledge of menu
• Prepare and serve beverages according to cafe recipes and specifications
• Communicate with guests about menu questions, allergens, and service
• Follows all recipe and presentation standards for cafe beverages
• Operates espresso / coffee station equipment in accordance with safety standards
• Keeps the cafe and espresso bar clean and sanitary
• Makes sure espresso bar and cafe cases are well stocked for service
• Delivers beautiful and artistic espresso beverages
• Offer support to colleagues and clients with professionalism and positivity
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Experience with manual espresso equipment and specialty coffee roasters
• Experience with latte art and ability to make latte art hearts in espresso drinks
• Strong communication skills to professionally communicate with all guests and team members
• Able to grasp and reach overhead
• Ability to operate a Toast point of sale
• Must be able to lift, move, and carry 50+lbs
• Must be able to work 8+ hours a day on feet
• Servsafe allergen certified and TIPS certified (or willing to be certified prior to start date, company pays for classes)
