NUTRITIONIST

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in public health nutrition, nutrition, foods and nutrition, or nutrition education or Master's degree in public health nutrition, nutrition, or food and nutrition. Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or licensure with the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Dietitians and Nutritionists, desired. Qualified candidates will have one year's experience in a health care field as a counselor, educator, clinical assistant, outreach worker, or home health aide. Must have sensitivity to the needs of the WIC population & customer service skills. Must have reliable transportation. Some occasional evening and weekend hours are required. The position provides nutrition care to at-risk women, infants and children including: anthropometric and hematological data collection, nutrition assessment, food package prescription, nutrition counseling and education, data entry, referrals to outside health and social services, breastfeeding promotion and follow-up nutrition education. The position requires participation in the planning, development and evaluation of: education materials, group education classes, nutrition in-services, outreach activities and nutrition policies, conducting quality assurance activities and communicating with the health care community on issues pertaining to participants’ needs.

Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not mandatory. Position is 32 hours per week. Salary range is $24.57/hr. to $26.58/hr. dependent on education and experience.
