This position is eligible for remote work at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Territory Sales Manager for John Deere Construction and Forestry working in Springfield MA/Syracuse, NY working remotely in the field, you will serve as the primary business lead working with dealers to engage key customers, drive the sales of compact construction whole goods and attachments, coordinate with territory team members, and support local/regional events and associations.

In addition, you will:

  • Collaborate with dealers to manage sales processes and drive sales growth.
  • Act as lead within the assigned territory to implement strategic initiatives with products and solutions.
  • Drive effective use of incentives and programs to accomplish sales targets.
  • Arrange and execute product, application, and sales process training with dealers.
  • Act as compact construction product information expert and training resource.
  • Act as mentor to a Territory Sales Manager, CCE

What Skills You Need

  • 4 or more years in Construction or off-road equipment industry with sales and marketing experience
  • Experience working with large dealer networks.
  • Demonstrated field experience, managing a large profitable territory.
  • Ability to apply business concepts and tools to tactical and strategic initiatives, working closely with a dealer organization.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% mostly within the assigned territory to work with dealers and visit customers, sometimes on short notice weekends.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • High level understanding of the Compact Construction industry and products.
  • Field experience with regular customer contact and knowledge of dealer/distribution networks.
  • Understanding of customer segments, production systems, and their various requirements.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority in working with dealers and field managers.
  • Experience/skills with sales, handling objections, and effective negotiations

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Business Management, Marketing, or Engineering)
