Position Title: Laboratory Supervisor – Donor Transfusion Services (Traveler)

Location: Hyannis, MA 02601

Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift (Monday–Friday)

Travel Stipend: $70–$80/day

Additional Requirements: Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Laboratory Supervisor – Donor Transfusion Services to oversee Blood Transfusion Services and Donor Collection Programs within a leading healthcare facility. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and the highest standards of patient care in a dynamic laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and standardize Blood Bank policies and procedures
• Oversee daily operations of the Blood Donor Center and supervise staff
• Drive blood collection initiatives through internal and external campaigns, including mobile drives
• Supervise transfusion-related testing including blood typing, crossmatching, antibody screening, and serologic testing
• Ensure quality control, instrument calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
• Oversee accurate documentation, transcription, and reporting of laboratory data
• Manage staff scheduling, inventory, and equipment maintenance
• Train, mentor, and evaluate laboratory personnel
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including AABB, FDA, and HIPAA
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with pathologists on new methodologies and laboratory programs
• Travel to off-site donor collection and mobile locations as required

Required Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field

Certifications:

• ASCP, NCA, or equivalent certification required
• SBB (Specialist in Blood Banking) certification preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in a blood center
• Prior supervisory experience in a full-service Transfusion Department preferred
• Strong understanding of regulatory and accreditation standards
