We are looking for a collaborative Senior Electrical Systems Specialist to join our established New England Rail (Power & Signals) and Group of Traction Power Engineers, designers and industry specialists with a wide variety of talent and experience. As our newest team member, you’ll play a key role in the development of design plans, specifications and estimates for intelligent transportation systems, electrical systems, and traction power systems along with other system engineering work tasks. Our team of multi-disciplinary experts is seeking a motivated candidate who will utilize their design knowledge to dream big ideas on various and complex intelligent transportation systems, electrical systems, and traction power system projects. We’d rely on your collaboration skills to coordinate interdisciplinary work as well as encourage you to bring your fresh ideas to work every day.
You’ll work with a knowledgeable and supportive team as you design these systems and assist in construction support and commissioning activities. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of any of the following: Substations and Unit Substation, AC and DC traction power and equipment, power generation and unit substations, mechanical pump rooms, AC and DC lighting systems, medium voltage equipment, AC and DC duct bank and cabling and motor controls.
Your Role:
• Work with the Traction Power Systems team and other disciplines on Transit Electrical Systems and Traction Power Equipment public and private clients
• Provide design packages that include plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Review the work of others in the team
• Provide calculations to support designs
• Support the implementation of these systems by providing field inspections, reviewing submittals, and responding to requests for information
• Support the commissioning and testing of these systems
• Research technologies to provide solutions to clients
• Attend team and client meetings
• Attend client site visits throughout New England
Here's what you'll need
• Substantial professional years of experience in the design, installation, and/or commissioning of electrical systems, traction power systems, unit substation systems and equipment.
• Working knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution, transportation pump room systems, Bus and Vehicle Maintenance Facilities and AC and DC power networks
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Capable of working in a team environment, including giving and receiving critical feedback
• Strong and effective verbal and written communications skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Self-motivated, responsible, and accountable
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and owners, and able to respond in a timely manner to their requests and needs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to transport self to sites on short notice
• Local to greater Boston MA
Experience with some or all the following is a plus:
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 – The National Electric Code
• Massachusetts Master Electrician License
• Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician License
• New Hampshire Master Electrician License
• Maine Master Electrician License
• Massachusetts Class A Commercial Driver's License

152,000.00

And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.
The base salary range for this position is $152,000.00 to $160,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
