AAM / NAS Systems Engineering Lead

Job Description:

LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company, is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Air Mobility (AAM)/NAS Systems Engineer to support the Volpe Center under the Transportation Technical Engineering and Mission Support (TTEMS) program.

Job Duties & Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):

• Lead AAM/NAS system architecture and system-of-systems design
• Develop trajectory models, conflict detection logic, fidelity thresholds

• Support safety analysis and standards alignment (ICAO, FIXM/FLXM)

Qualifications:

Required: A successful candidate will have

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 10+ years of progressive experience with at least 2 years supporting technology and systems modernization.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred:

• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• At least 3 years experience in transportation modernization
• Aviation, AAM or safety critical systems background
• Previous experience in a federal or aviation-related environment

Work Requirements:

• Work location: Boston, MA is Volpe Headquarters; contractors may work from client sites across the country
• Position is: Likely Hybrid; depends on client needs
• Work Hours: CORE hours- 9 am-4 pm ET
• Travel: 10%
• Physical requirements:
  • Extended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.
• Background check: Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

Compensation (Pay Bands)
Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors, such as (but not limited to) education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time, 40 hour/week status. Part-time staff receive compensation at an hourly rate. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and is just one component of LSTs total compensation package for employees. ** In compliance with local laws, LS Technologies presents this reasonable compensation range as a guideline for roles in California, Colorado, New York, or Washington D.C."
