Statewide Professional Development Academy Coach Manager

General Summary:

The Statewide Professional Development Academy (PD Academy) Coaching Manager will lead the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Leadership Coaching Model and other coaching-related services delivered through the PD Academy grant, funded by the MA Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). This includes working with coaches across the state, coordinating the leadership coaching system, as well as developing and implementing the infrastructure in support of the leadership coaching system. The Statewide Coaching Manager is a key position in the PD Academy team at Early Education Leaders, and will coordinate coaching and technical assistance services within that team and collaborate with EEC and other state coaching and professional development partners.

Examples of Duties:

  • Lead ongoing development, improvement and high quality implementation of the statewide Leadership Coaching Model and Manual in close alignment with the MA Department of Early Education and Care and its strategic efforts around Continuous Quality Improvement, its CQI Playbook, Program Quality Frameworks, and the educator and leadership credential and career pathways.
  • Coordinate all aspects of coaching, coach training, and coach professional development. This will include outreach and recruitment, collaboration with PDCs to implement a professional development needs assessment, client-oriented services, support to programs and providers, and accurate and timely collection and management of all related program data
  • Build ongoing capacity of PDC Leadership including PDC Coordinators and Lead PDC coaches across the state in the high quality implementation of the coaching model and alignment with EEC strategies, systems, and policies.
  • Provide and coordinate training and technical assistance to lead coaches/coaches/managers to support use of the centralized online data system.
  • Lead, plan and implement statewide PD Academy Coaching Collaboratives held several times each year
  • Provide reflective supervision for PDC Lead Coaches/Coaching Managers in all regions
  • Work with PD Academy Director and EEC partners to establish strong communication with EEC licensors in the establishment of clear criteria for which programs will receive priority for coaching; the intensity and duration of these supports; and the program readiness for engagement with technical assistance
  • Lead collaborative efforts to establish/continually improve a set of criteria with which to assess and support coaches and other professional development facilitators, so as to ensure consistency in the quality of coaching, training, and technical assistance that is delivered
  • Evaluate coaching services across PDCs at least twice a year using criteria established in coordination with PD Academy Director/team and EEC.
  • Establish specific targets in regards to coaching benchmarks, monitor progress, and plan for continuous improvements in the coaching system to ensure it achieves desired impact.
  • Collaborate with the Early Education Leaders Research Team in data collection from the coaching data system.
  • Analyze and disseminate coaching data reports to EEC and PDC Leadership
  • Work collaboratively with the Early Education Leaders team, EEC, and statewide partners.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a Master’s Degree and a minimum of 10 or more (10+) years of experience in early care and education (ECE). Experience in ECE coaching, administration and leadership is required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience serving as an Early care and education (ECE) Coach, Leadership Coach or Trainer is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency and practical experience utilizing Google Workspace (e.g., Docs, Sheets) and the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in strategic planning and establishing program benchmarks and targets for continuous quality improvement and equity
  • Expertise in adult learning theory and best practices for coaching fidelity, equity, and effectiveness
  • Experience designing and delivering high-quality "train-the-trainer" or "train-the-coach professional development" program
