Technical Architect

VibeIQ Inc.
Boston, MA

ABOUT US

At VibeIQ, we pioneer the future of digital collaboration with our innovative suite of apps built specifically for product teams. Our mission is helping companies that design, manufacture, or sell products work more effectively, enable a better work-life balance, and reduce their environmental impact.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Technical Architect to join our Engineering team to lead the technical design and implementation of software solutions for our clients. This role is responsible for the technical delivery of VibeIQ within a customer’s existing software landscape. By bridging the gap between customer’s business process and VibeIQ’s core product offering, this role enables customers to be successful by designing and implementing solutions that are scalable and maintainable.

This is a hands-on role, in which an ideal candidate leverages their deep technical knowledge of software engineering to work and to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. They should be capable of developing technical designs, aligning stakeholders on those designs, and leading engineers to execute on that design. They must ensure their solutions scale with the customer as their use cases evolve.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Customer Engagement: Collaborate with clients to gather technical and functional requirements, understand business goals, and translate them into detailed architectural designs.
  • Solution Design: Design and document scalable, secure, and maintainable software architectures & designs that leverage our core product platform.
  • Project Leadership & Collaboration: Act as the technical lead on customer engagements, guiding implementation teams, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and client expectations, and ensuring end-to-end delivery of professional services projects.
  • Technical Oversight: Review and validate code, configurations, and integration approaches; ensure adherence to best practices and internal standards.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to engineers and consultants on the team, fostering skill growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Coding: Be capable of joining projects as a direct contributor as needed, writing code to execute on technical designs.
  • Pre-sales Support: Occasionally assist the sales team in scoping, estimating, and architecting solutions during the pre-sales process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, reusable assets, and technical standards. Look at every workstream as an opportunity to improve and scale the organization.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience as a self-taught engineer.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering or technical leadership roles, preferably in a Professional Services or client-facing environment.
  • Strong experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices, APIs, and integration patterns.
  • Strong expertise in at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, .NET, etc.), with openness to learn new ones.
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle process, including supporting tooling concepts such as DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and deployment automation.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

BONUS POINTS

  • Background in enterprise software, SaaS platforms, or B2B integrations.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture patterns (e.g., event driven systems, service oriented architecture, hub-and-spoke models, point-to-point integrations, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data modeling, security, compliance, and system scalability.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms or architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).

WHY JOIN US

  • Work on challenging, high-impact projects with enterprise clients.
  • Collaborate with top talent in a dynamic, growth-oriented company.
  • Enjoy flexibility, autonomy, and opportunities for career advancement.
  • Be part of a Professional Services team that values innovation, customer success, and continuous learning.

BENEFITS

  • 401(k), Health, Dental, Vision
  • 9 Paid Holidays per Year
  • Discretionary Time Off
  • WFH stipend for remote or commuter benefits for Boston-based employees
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave
