Casino Compliance Lead
Introduction
The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) serves as one of the largest revenue sources for the State of Maryland supporting important state programs and services including education public health and safety human resources and the addition to generating revenue from the sale of lottery products the MLGCA is also responsible for the oversight of the states casino gaming program providing direction and guidance to its casino partners on financial security regulatory and licensing procedures for the facilities. The Agency also regulates Sports Wagering Daily Fantasy Sports and Electronic Bingo as well as Instant Ticket Lottery Machines which are located at almost 90 Veterans posts. Gaming in Maryland is a dynamic and growing business that operates around the clock 365 days of the year.
Casino compliance personnel are considered essential personnel and in the event of a state of emergency are expected to report to their assigned duty stations.

POSITION DUTIES
A Casino Compliance Lead Representative is responsible for performing the same casino compliance duties at the Maryland Lottery licensed gaming facilities as the casino compliance representatives perform. Employees in this class are responsible for receiving complaints from the public; receiving shipments of gaming equipment; monitoring facility employees and vendors and ensuring that various aspects of the casino internal controls security plans surveillance plans and responsible gaming plans are adhered to; perform licensing functions and ensure the integrity of the VLT and table games operations; fingerprinting casino employment addition employees in this class are responsible for conducting investigations when warranted into the following: operation of the video lottery terminals and table games; employee terminations; COMAR and ICS violations; criminal activity and any other investigations as the Lottery may deem necessary.
- Serves as a liaison and establishes relationships with all levels of law enforcement casino management casino employees all registered and certified vendors and all necessary persons.
- Conducts daily review of Surveillance and Security logs to ensure incidents have been documented and reported to MLGCA.
- Provides assistance to the MLGCAs Internal Audit and Accounting Departments when requested or as needed.
- Serves as on-site liaison for the central computer system vendor to ensure that all machines are communicating properly.
- Receives and verifies all video lottery table games and sports wagering equipment.
- Monitors outgoing shipments from the keys that the MLGCA is required to control pursuant to Internal Control procedures.
- Ensures facility signage is in compliance with MLGCA regulations specifically Responsible Gaming requirements.
- Maintains familiarity with all documents relating to casino/sports wagering compliance such as; the properties Internal Controls rules regulations and procedures and MLGCA rules regulations and internal policies.
- Observes all areas of the casino for violations of Internal Controls or COMAR.
- Ensures that casino Security Surveillance and Table Games departments meet all minimum staffing requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Three years of experience in administrative staff or professional staff work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute the completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional staff work for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non- commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

2. The hired candidate will be required to work on a 4-day 10-hour work schedule with the work days being Wednesday through Saturday. The schedule will be either 7:00 am - 5:00 pm 2:00 pm midnight or 10:00 pm 8:00 am.

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
