Millipore Sigma, part of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, is aiming to create a transformative internship experience where interns drive genuine AI solutions into laboratory and business workflow automation. We are seeking an intern to support the Advanced Solutions Business Unit, with identifying and implementing automation into our day-to-day operations.

salary: $20 - $25 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

• Work with a team within the Advanced Solutions business to identify areas where automation technologies (e.g., AI tools) can improve efficiency and reduce manual, or error-prone steps in workflows
• Identify practical pathways to automation and work to implement scripts/tools that will improve process efficiency and data discipline (tools/tech stack can be aligned to the team’s environment).
• Support work that improves processes (e.g., lead conversion, lead quality, quote generation, data analysis, etc.) through better workflow design and scalable enablement.
• Deliver a defined project with clear deliverables (aligned on with your manager) where the outcomes will be presented at program end.

Deliverables / What Success Looks Like

• A working automation/scripting deliverable (or set of deliverables) that reduces manual effort and can be reused after the internship.
• Documentation (simple “how it works / how to maintain”) and a final presentation summarizing impact and scale recommendations.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems , or a closely related STEM field degree (level is flexible based on program decisions)
