- Animal Care & Husbandry: Provide daily feeding, habitat maintenance, and behavioral monitoring for the ostriches.
- Health & Safety: Monitor ostriches for signs of illness or injury, administer medications as directed by veterinary staff, and maintain detailed health records.
- Enclosure Maintenance: Ensure that habitats are clean, safe, and enriched to promote natural behaviors. Perform routine inspections and assist with modifications to enhance animal welfare.
- Behavioral Enrichment: Develop and implement enrichment activities to stimulate mental and physical well-being.
- Guest Education & Engagement: Interact with visitors, lead educational talks about ostriches, and participate in outreach programs to promote awareness of conservation efforts.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other animal care professionals, assisting with breeding programs and research projects when applicable.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to assist in emergency situations, including animal escapes, medical crises, or natural disasters.
- Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Animal Science, Biology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
