Position Summary: :Reporting to the Manager of Business Applications, the Senior Salesforce Developer designs, develops, and implements Salesforce-based solutions that support Careforth’s healthcare programs, operations, and regulatory requirements. This role requires deep expertise in the Salesforce platform, healthcare business processes, and technical system design.
This role will partner closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Administrators, and IT team members to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant technical solutions. This individual participates in the planning, design, implementation, and ongoing support of Salesforce solutions and integrations, ensuring that systems meet operational needs and regulatory standards.
This role focuses on complex Salesforce development, including custom Apex, Lightning Web Components, integrations, and automation, to support of healthcare workflows such as eligibility, enrollment, authorizations, caregiver/member records, and program participation.
What You Will Do: :• Design, develop, test, and implement Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and declarative tools.
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and well-architected Salesforce solutions.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Owners to refine requirements, write technical designs, and support backlog and QA processes.
• Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external healthcare systems, including payer feeds, eligibility files, care management platforms, document management, and e-signature tools.
• Ensure all solutions meet regulatory, compliance, and security requirements, including HIPAA and internal data governance standards.
• Participate in planning and implementation of system enhancements and process improvements.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards, best practices, and platform limits.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.
• Support release management activities, including deployment planning, validation, and post-release support.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to cross-functional partners.
• Stay current on Salesforce platform updates, healthcare technology trends, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Perform other duties and special projects as required.
• 7+ years of experience working in Salesforce, Java or C# development required
• Candidates must have some experience with Salesforce development
• Strong hands-on experience with Apex (classes, triggers, batch, queueable, schedulable), Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Salesforce Flows.
• Experience designing and implementing integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, platform events, or file-based processing.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce data modeling, complex relational data structures, and the Salesforce security model.
• Experience working in regulated environments and handling sensitive data, with a strong focus on security and compliance.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Proficiency with source control (Git) and CI/CD deployment processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions in a growth environment.
• Must be able to work 8-5 EST hours.
Preferred experience:
• Salesforce Platform Developer I and/or II certification is highly desired.
• Experience supporting healthcare workflows such as eligibility, enrollment, authorizations, claims, or care management.

The pay range for this position is $111,064 - $167,000. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
