Travel Registered Nurse Newborn Nursery Job
Job Overview
TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a compassionate RN – Newborn Nursery for travel assignments . This role involves providing postnatal care to healthy newborns , monitoring vital signs, educating parents, and ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home. The ideal candidate has experience in neonatal assessments, breastfeeding support, and newborn safety protocols .
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for healthy newborns.
- Conduct newborn assessments , including Apgar scoring, vital signs monitoring, and reflex checks.
- Assist with early bonding and breastfeeding support .
- Administer newborn medications, vaccinations, and screenings .
- Educate and support parents on newborn care, feeding, and safe sleep practices .
- Collaborate with pediatricians, lactation consultants, and postpartum nurses .
- Recognize and escalate any signs of neonatal distress or complications .
- Travel to various hospital newborn nurseries for temporary assignments .
Qualifications
- Education: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license .
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in a Newborn Nursery, Postpartum, or NICU setting .
- Certifications: BLS, NRP required.
- Skills: Proficiency in neonatal assessments, breastfeeding support, and family education .
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work 12-hour shifts and respond to urgent situations .
- Travel Readiness: Open to temporary travel assignments .
