Boston University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work in the Human Behavior, Research, and Policy Department beginning Fall 2026. 

We invite persons with a strong commitment to social justice focused anti-oppressive practice, scholarship, and teaching whose research focuses on the intersection of social work and health or behavioral health especially those whose work focuses on aging and older adults, disability justice, trauma, reproductive health, children and families, and policy and practice innovations addressing health equity. Although we welcome scholarship reflecting a range of diverse, rigorous methodological approaches, we are especially interested in applicants with strong quantitative analytic skills. 

Hiring salary range: $95,000 - $112,000

Required Skills

The successful candidate will have:  

• a doctoral degree in social work or related field (e.g., sociology, psychology, public health, public policy) 
• an MSW and 2-3 years post-MSW practice experience (preferred) 
• an active research agenda, evidence of scholarly productivity, and promise of future research funding
