Operating Services Manager
:
Responsible for managing development of operating systems for new products, processes and equipment launches. Support and consult with Design and Construction team on store design with operational changes and enhancements to support new products, processes and equipment. Lead Alpha, Beta stage, and operational readiness of in-store product, process and equipment testing and support Market testing and National Launch as needed. Deliver to the brand a seamless operating platform that can be implemented in a replicable manner within the structure of the current and future operating systems. Support new products, processes and equipment launches through collaboration with cross-functional team on development of reference materials, job aides, videos, readiness etc .
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that all new or optimized products, processes and equipment are operationally tested and developed for launch of brand calendar /core improvement initiatives. Delivering a simplified, easily replicable platform that will have a positive effect on store level EC sales and profitability. By managing lab testing, field testing and data tracking/collection and by utilizing all available tools of all new products, process, and equipment for alpha, beta, market testing and national launch stages.
- Ensure that all new or optimized products, processes, store layouts and equipment are tested so they meet QA and or engineering standards prior to any launch.
- Develop simplified, in-restaurant operating procedures for new or optimized products, processes and equipment including R&D, Design and Construction, Commercialization, QA, Equipment Engineering, Operations Services, DOs/FBCs and Marketing. Ensure easy to use and replicable platforms and procedures that are executable at store level on a consistent basis.
- Understands restaurant P&L's and can gather, evaluate and present the following: product mix, labor cost, COGS, Sales, controllable and non-controllable expenses.
- Ensure stakeholder collaboration and inclusion as part of any testing and launch process (restaurant employees and management team, R&D, Design and Construction, Commercialization, QA, Equipment Engineering, Operations Services, DOs/FBCs and Marketing.)
- Lead development, implementation and maintenance of Job aids and operations manuals and procedures that support core and calendar initiatives, LTO launches (base business) through Alpha,Beta and National Launch stages. Ensure that these materials are delivered on time, correct and executable at store level. Ensure that these materials are reviewed and approved by QA, Operations Services, Training and Marketing so they meet the objectives and standards of each dept.
- Support cross functional work streams including, but not limited to: training videos, webinars and materials; culinary validations, pre-production reviews for photo shoots; BAC/RAC/DAC meeting/Franchisee sub-committee presentations; RVP and OES presentations/training; cluster-training sessions; special projects; lab upkeep; brand road shows; national franchisee conventions; other meetings, and marketing events as needed.
Education Requirements
Minimum
- 4 Year Degree / Bachelor's
Years Of Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in restaurant industry operations with a min of 3 years of GM experience or 3 yrs in Concept Innovation or combination thereof
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES
- In depth knowledge of restaurant industry operational best practices
- Knowledge of QSR industry and environment a plus
- Knowledge of restaurant equipment a plus
Travel Required
- 70% of this role is performed from an office environment and will require 30% of car and air travel in support of the position responsibilities
