Job Description:

Roxbury Community College Athletics Department invites applications for part-time Head Coach, ESports position. History in the Making, apply today for this tremendous opportunity to lead, establish and build our 1st ESports Team. Looking for a strong passionate leader, with knowledge of ESports competitions, that can create a fun inclusive learning environment. RCC is a member of NJCAA Region 21 Athletic Conference. The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. Coaches, supervises and develops an intercollegiate varsity team, including in-season and off-season programing, in accordance with institutional and departmental objectives with the rules and regulations of the athletic governing bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fulfill all tasks attendant to the overall management of the Women's Basketball team and do so in a manner that is consistent with the educational mission of Roxbury Community College and embodies the educational philosophies of the Department of Athletics and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
• Promote the positive development and growth of student-athletes: academically, athletically and personally; and help monitor academic progress of student-athletes to ensure eligibility and progress towards a degree.
• Recruit and retain student athletes for the Basketball team in accordance with Roxbury Community College and National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) Guidelines.
• Understand and adhere to all Roxbury Community College, NJCAA and Region 21 Athletic Conference bylaws, rules, policies and protocols.
• Coordinate all practice and training sessions for the Basketball team and prepare the team for competition.
• Work with Strength and Conditioning Coach to implement Strength and Conditioning programs for student athletes.
• Plans, strategizes and oversees all practices and scheduled contests to provide a positive and competitive experience for student athletes;
• Develops a recruitment plan to identify and enroll student athletes that will create and sustain a successful, competitive athletic program;
• Establishes team rules and protocols and implements appropriately;
• Fosters the personal development and competitive spirit of the student athletes while supporting their educational experience;
• Emphasizes and promotes academic progress, resulting in strong academic performance, retention and graduation rates;
• Provides team supervision at all off-campus competitions. Interprets and implements the rules and regulations of the team, the department, and the college;
• Represents the university and team at all appropriate athletic events (e.g. competitions, conferences, and college sanctioned programs such as open houses);
• Assists with game day set-up and breakdown;

Requirements:

• Experience with computers and IT troubleshooting
• Experience with online gaming
• Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;
• Experience with NACE: The National Association of Collegiate ESports.
• Experience with the Collegiate ESports Leagues: League of Legends, Valorant, Rocket League, Smash Ultimate, FC, NBA2K, Madden, Fortnite, and Overwatch.
• Experience working in a diverse environment;
• Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;
