Commercial Drywall Estimator
Position OverviewThe Drywall Estimator will be responsible for accurately assessing and estimating the costs associated with drywall installation projects. This role requires a keen understanding of construction processes and materials, along with the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and required materials.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for drywall projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and contractors to clarify project requirements and expectations.
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and verify measurements.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Analyze and compare bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure best value for the project.
- Provide support during the bidding process and assist in the selection of subcontractors.
- Update and maintain estimating documentation and databases.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in drywall and construction.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Drywall Estimating experience
- Proven experience as an estimator in the drywall and construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of drywall installation processes and materials, including metal stud, EIFS, and lath & plaster.
- Familiarity with commercial construction practices and standards.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost estimation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
