Maintenance Support Staff

The Hampden County Sheriff's Office is seeking an experienced General Maintenance Support Staffer to work at the Hampden County Correctional Center in Ludlow.

The General Maintenance Support Staff is responsible for outlining and maintaining a program of preventative maintenance within HCSO inmate housing units, support and program buildings, and the accompanying grounds. The General Maintenance Support Staff evaluates the performances of inmate workers assigned to those areas. The selected individual is responsible for preventative care, and inventory control of the assigned area. This can include but is not limited to handling and processing requisitions for supplies, materials, and equipment and is instrumental in the implementation of those materials. The General Maintenance Support Staff can work in the support areas including, grounds maintenance, snow removal from the parking lots, warehouse operation and stocking, and laundry operations.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven ability in written and oral communication
• Ability to work overtime as well as any work shift
• General knowledge of warehouse, grounds maintenance and institutional laundry procedures preferred
• Valid Driver's License
• Maintain known and accessible telephone number
