Administrative assistant
About the Role:
Saints Vartanantz Armenian Church is seeking a highly organized and professional
Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of the church and assist the Pastor.
This is a 30-hour/week position with flexible hours and great benefits, offering a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a welcoming and faith-based community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Pastor’s calendar and scheduling needs
- Answer and direct phone inquiries
- Perform light bookkeeping and maintain databases
- File, scan, and organize office documents
- Draft and send church correspondence
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail
- Coordinate church-wide mailings and newsletters
- Assist with hall rental inquiries and logistics
- Provide general administrative support to the Pastor and Parish Council
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of administrative/office support experience
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- Discreet and professional in handling confidential matters
- Familiarity with office equipment (e.g., copiers, scanners)
Preferred:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Fluency in Armenian (a plus, but not required)
Benefits include health, dental, vision, LTD, 403b with an employer contribution up to 5% of pay toward retirement, paid vacation and holidays.
