Position Overview
The Maintenance Person is crucial in ensuring that our facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position involves performing general maintenance tasks, repairs, and overseeing the cleanliness of the property to ensure it provides a welcoming environment for clients and staff. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural repairs as needed.
- Perform regular inspections of facilities to identify and address potential maintenance issues.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management.
- Coordinate and oversee any outside contractors for specialized maintenance and repair work.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down facilities for special events or client programs.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is stocked and in optimal working order.
- Keep records of maintenance and repair activities, including costs and materials used.
- Ensure all areas of the facility are safe and compliant with local and state regulations.
- Participate in proactive maintenance programs to improve the functionality and aesthetic of the properties.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all safety policies and practices in carrying out maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Follow all company policies and regulations related to maintenance and repairs.
Team Collaboration & Professionalism
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to foster a supportive work environment.
- Attend staff meetings and provide input on facility improvements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in general maintenance, repairs, or relevant skilled trade.
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues independently.
- No formal educational requirements; however, relevant certifications or vocational training are a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
