Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Job Title: Locum Tenens Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Employment Type: Travel Contract / Locum Tenens
• Location: Worcester, MA 01605 (Massachusetts healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Hospital – Level 1 Trauma Center, NICU
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/29/2025 – End: 12/29/2025)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,470 - $2,540
• Weekend & Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend, major holidays, and cross-campus coverage required

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of critical care experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), including NICU experience
• Active Massachusetts RRT license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma center with high-acuity patients
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records system preferred
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Must meet all facility onboarding and education verification requirements

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in a high-acuity hospital environment
• Perform advanced respiratory care procedures: ABG interpretation, intubation assistance, chest physiotherapy, mechanical ventilation management, and high-frequency ventilator support
• Assist in high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports
• Deliver care for patients with respiratory distress syndrome, ARDS, pneumonia, and other critical respiratory conditions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float and provide cross-campus respiratory therapy coverage as needed
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in ongoing education and compliance training
