Job Description:
Title: Executive Director of Student Financial Services

The Executive Director of Student Financial Services at Roxbury Community College is responsible for the overall management and administration of all students' financial services as well as the operation of the Financial Aid and Student Accounts Offices. This vital leadership role is central to refining processes, ensuring stringent regulatory compliance, and delivering outstanding customer service. The role is crucial for enhancing technological utilization, actively participating in system upgrades and integrating new technologies that support the college's mission. The position significantly contributes to strategic planning efforts aiming to elevate operational efficiencies across financial services. In collaboration with the CFO, the ED is responsible for the development, oversight, and implementation of financial aid strategies, policies, and awarding practices to ensure efficient and strategic disbursement. Additionally, the ED will demonstrate clear commitment to providing excellent customer service, reinforcing the college commitment to student-centered experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer a student financial services program that offers personal and quality service to all students and their parents.
- Coordinate efforts with the Business Office, Registrar, Information Technology, Institutional Research, Admissions, and other offices on campus.
- Serve as the Chief Compliance Officer for Title IV federal aid regulations; and primary DPA for the institution.
- Develop policies and procedures, in compliance with federal and/or state laws and regulations, regarding financial aid and cash management/Bursar functions as needed.
- Monitor and assess financial aid programs, including scholarships, grants, and loans, to enhance effectiveness and accessibility.
- Drive the development of creative funding models for the use of scholarship funds alongside other sources of financial support.
- Provide guidance and oversight to ensure the integrity and regulatory compliance of all federal and state financial aid programs.
- Ensure institutional, state, and federal reports and audits are completed in a timely and consistent manner.
- Enhance and maintain services and opportunities within Student Employment that maximize aid and student engagement.
- Coordinate with IT services regarding system upgrades and/or implementations and represent the university in the selection of new products/vendors pertaining to student aid.
- Represent the university in system-wide and state conversations related to student financial needs, and educational affordability.
- Collaborate with campus leaders to improve student services within the solution center and introduce greater efficiency across all areas of responsibility.
- Present at New Student Orientation events, this may be in person, virtually, or recording of a slide deck.
- Ensure veteran and military affiliated students receive timely support, resources, and educational benefits.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of eight years of experience in management within student financial services in a higher education setting, focusing on process improvement, compliance, and customer service.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of financial systems and software commonly used in higher education, such as Jenzabar.
- Experience leading technological upgrades and enhancements.
Personal Characteristics:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively managing relationships and communicating across various levels of the organization.
