Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to Med Surg and telemetry patients.
  • Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry readings to detect arrhythmias or changes in heart rhythm.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and specialized cardiac treatments .
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and families about medications, procedures, and post-discharge care .
  • Recognize and respond to emergency situations, such as cardiac events .
  • Maintain accurate patient records, assessments, and care plans .
  • Travel to various healthcare facilities for temporary assignments.

Qualifications

  • Education: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license .
  • Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in a Med Surg Tele unit .
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS required. NIH Stroke Certification preferred.
  • Skills: Strong EKG interpretation, telemetry monitoring, and critical care response .
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work 12-hour shifts and handle physically demanding tasks .
  • Travel Readiness: Open to temporary travel assignments .
