Brief Overview of type of faculty position we are seeking: The Biology Department of the School of Sciences and Health Professions at Simmons University is seeking applicants for an adjunct instructor position in the Biology Department to teach Biol 104 - Introduction to Environmental Science effective January 13th, 2026, and end May 18, 2026. Course Description Biol 104 - Introduction to Environmental Science introduces basic principles of ecology and environmental science relevant to the interactions between humans and their environment, unity and interconnections of life, and processes that drive ecological health. Relevance of ecology to today's society with emphasis on natural resource use, conservation, and the relationships of ecological health to human health. Responsibilities : The adjunct instructor will be responsible for lecturing and leading in class discussions on Mondays and Fridays for Biol 104 from 2:00PM to 3:20PM. Requirements : Master's or Ph.D. degree, experience teaching Environmental Science courses. Preferred Qualifications : experience teaching Introduction to Environmental Science . Compensation: $6,300 In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws effective October 29, 2025, Simmons University is committed to pay equity, transparency and clear communication throughout the hiring process. This is non-benefits eligible position. Compensation for adjunct faculty is established at a set rate per course and does not vary based on experience, education, or other factors.
