2026/02/12 Worcester Job Reference Number: PDIS/WSN01/0226 Department: Sewerage Networks: Worcester Business Unit Industry: Government Job Type: Permanent Positions Available: 1 Salary: R420 640,43 - R546 000,51 SUPERINTENDENT: NETWORKS WORCESTER & RAWSONVILLE (PERMANENT) SALARY: R420 640.43 – R 546 000.51 per annum (T12) TOTAL COST TO COUNCIL: R 605 044 – R 767 595 per annum (Inclusive of Municipal benefits: Group Life Scheme, Pension Fund etc.) Ref: PDIS/WSN01/0226 Job Description Job Purpose: Controlling, managing and coordination of the operations of the Depot with respect to Water & Sewerage reticulation (installation, maintenance of networks, etc.) in order to ensure that work undertaken is completed in accordance with laid down specifications, quality standards and cost measures. Duties- Identifies with the Section’s strategy with respect to service delivery and implements and monitors the short-term plans/objectives for the Water & Sewerage reticulation functionality.
- Co-ordinates tasks/activities associated with the implementation of procedures and monitoring and reporting on sequences/outcomes.
- Plans, prioritises and schedules water and sewerage network projects and installation, maintenance and repair work.
- Implements procedures, systems and controls to regulate specific work sequences associated with the functionality.
- Co-ordinates and controls tasks/activities associated with controlling personnel performance, productivity and discipline.
- Monitors and evaluates progress with regards to Water & Sewerage reticulation network operations (installation and maintenance/repair).
- Controls and monitors the capital and operating expenditure against the approved budget allocations.
- Performs specific administrative tasks/activities associated with the updating and maintaining of records/information related to the activities/ operations of the Water & Sewerage reticulation networks.
- To Adhere to health and safety regulations in terms of OHS Act.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements- Grade 12 or equivalent technical qualification.
- Trade Tested Artisan (Plumbing).
- 3 - 5 years’ relevant experience required.
- Valid Code C1 driver ’s License & PrDP.
- Computer literacy (MS Office Applications).
- Proficiency in at least (2) of the (3) official languages of the Western Cape.
- Good management/supervision, human relations, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to give attention to detail.
