Kitchen Commis

Job Classification : Non-Exempt

Job Type : Part-Time, 29 Hours Per Week

Summary:

The Kitchen Commis will be responsible for daily facility maintenance ensuring an exceptionally clean and sanitary environment as well as the receiving and stocking of perishable and non-perishable products. This individual will assist in food production and service for cold and hot items, inventory management, and opening/closing the kitchen. This role will report to the Director of Sports Science & Athletic Development.

Responsibilities :

• Responsible for the daily thorough cleaning and proper storage of all cookware, dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, kitchen and dining area



• Responsible for daily made-to-order cold items such as acai bowl and recovery shakes and associated prep/production



• Shared responsibility for end‑to‑end weekly inventory management—ordering, receiving, and maintaining precise stock levels and high‑quality product displays throughout the lounge.



• Responsible for salad bar and panini station and associated prep and cleaning



• Adhere to HACCP, organization, and sanitation standards

Qualifications :

• Associate degree in Nutrition, Culinary Nutrition, or Culinary Arts



• 2 years of restaurant experience in a professional kitchen setting



• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills



• Ability to work independently in a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, and long stretches



• Excellent understanding of proper food handling procedures



• Basic food preparation skills

The expected range of annual salary/hourly rate and potential commission, if applicable, is included below. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this/these range(s) will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market and industry considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure, performance, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.

Hourly Rate: $21.00 per hour
