Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel Contract
• Setting: Hospital – Inpatient, Nursing Unit
• Location: Boston, MA 02118 (Boston healthcare jobs)
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 20, 2025
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour days, 36 hours per week (every other weekend & holiday required)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Number of Positions: 2
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2060 - $2120 per week

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a Level 1 trauma facility
• Recent critical care experience in both MICU and SICU settings
• Proficiency with lung protective ventilation strategies
• Experience participating on Code Blue teams
• Ability to make ventilator management decisions based on patient assessment and laboratory results
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Preferred: Experience with Level III NICU, Drager XL and v500 ventilators
• Required Certifications: RRT certification, Massachusetts Respiratory Care license, BLS
• Preferred Certifications: NPS and/or ACCS

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced respiratory care to critically ill patients in MICU, SICU, and Level III NICU hospital settings
• Actively participate in Code Blue situations and rapid response teams
• Independently assess patients and manage ventilator settings
• Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate documentation and care coordination
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Operate and troubleshoot Drager XL and v500 ventilators
• Provide patient care in accordance with hospital protocols and best clinical practices
