This opportunity offers a pivotal role for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room, providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care. The position is based in Fitchburg, MA and is contract in nature.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering nursing care that adheres to established standards, protocols, and patient-centered approaches.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Advocating for patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Responding promptly and effectively to emergency situations.
• Collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure patient well-being during procedures.
• Managing sterile fields, instrument sterilization, and surgical counts in accordance with policies.
• Assessing and managing patient pain levels, medication administration, and intravenous therapy safely.
• Documenting all care accurately and providing thorough reports to healthcare team members.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge planning.
• Participating actively in professional development and promoting compliance with safety and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
• ACLS certification upon hire or a valid BLS card with ACLS obtained within 60 days.
• Recent and relevant Operating Room experience is required.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Strong communication and critical thinking capabilities.
• Availability to take call as per unit rotation.
