Looking for an exciting opportunity to begin or continue your career in finance and banking? We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll be responsible for a range of tasks to keep our finances organized and running smoothly. As part of this role, you'll have the chance to learn the ins and outs of accounting and finance while supporting daily operations. This position works onsite at our Purchase Street location, and is not remote eligible.
SUMMARY
Assist with a variety of clerical & accounting duties related to the accounting function within the credit union. Follow detailed and standardized procedures in performing routine accounting clerical operations. Support the finance department, to include posting of accounting journal entries, billing, accounts payable, reconciliations, researching items and responds to internal and external discrepancies, as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Post journal entries, conduct daily reconciliations for different types of transactions (Zelle, ACH, …), verify and post checks, perform wire transfers.
- Daily reconciliations for Credit cards, ACH, RDC, Share Draft, Zelle and cash advance.
- Balance and perform ATM reconciliations.
- Verify & post official checks.
- Ensure teller recap is balanced each morning and notify the CFO with any discrepancies.
- Clearing & posting to test accounts while researching and working with various departments on discrepancies.
- Accounts payable process such as entering invoices for payment.
- File, scan and assist with any other clerical duties, as needed.
- Adherence to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) responsibilities which are specific to the position and reporting suspicious activities to the BSA Officer.
- Other tasks deemed by the Vice President of Finance/Controller

- Ability to balance accounts and prepare financial reports.
- Computer savvy.
- Positive, professional business relationships among the credit union.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of accounting and related computer applications.
- Ability to use a computer, navigate the internet, and use common software applications like MicrosoftOffice (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) is required.
- 1-2 years related experience in Banking/Accounting is required. Banking preferred.
- Team player attitude needed to work with other departments at all levels and resolve analytical problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
- The ability to work independently and take on additional projects as assigned.
